Mind the Gap

A program that aims to change the way girls perceive Computer Science (CS) and encourage them to develop an interest in the field.

Google’s “Mind the Gap” program was created and led by volunteer software engineers starting at 2008. the program started with inviting girls to visit in the Google offices, and grew to include different offerings, reaching over 6000 girls in Israel by 2015. It also expended to many offices around the world (New York, Tokyo, Krakow, Zurich and more).

I took on as the program lead in 2014-2015, when we restructured the program by choosing 40 schools to "go deeper". Each school signed on to participate in the 4 components (office visits, ambassadors program for girls, teachers PD and a summer camp) of the program, for three years.
